TIPNIS

More than 2000 indigenous people walked for 66 days, covering a distance of almost 600 kilometers from the city of Trinidad, in the Amazonian Department of Beni, to the seat of government in La Paz, in the Bolivian highlands, protesting against the construction of a modern highway, which if completed will cut across their territory and within the ecological reserve of "Isiboro Sécure National Park and Indigenous Territory", known as the Tipnis.

They arrived in La Paz on October 19, 2011.

These portraits were taken just minutes after their arrival.
